Supervision and Peer Consultation

Professional Supervision

At YCP we value ongoing professional development and the provision of support to both colleagues and trainee clinicians. Most of our psychologists have been approved by the Psychology Board of Australia to act as supervisors. You can read more about each supervisor in their bio here, or you can search their credentials via the Find a Supervisor register through the Psychology Board of Australia

Type of supervision:

Registrarship. A number of our psychologists are able to act as the primary or secondary supervisor for graduate psychologists who are completing their endorsement in Clinical Psychology or Clinical Neuropsychology.

Ongoing Supervision: We can also offer supervision to psychologists and other mental health professionals as a part of meeting their Continuing Professional Development requirements and ongoing development.

'As needed' supervision: Perhaps you  have an ongoing supervisor, but would like one or two sessions to discuss a specific issue one of our psychologists has particular experience with. We are happy to offer this support.

Debriefing: If you have recently been involved in a difficult incident at work and would like support to manage the impact of that and to consider how you will move forward, please get in touch.

Location:

Supervision can be completed at our Richmond office or via teleconference.

Further Information:

Please feel free to contact us to enquire about which of our psychologists could be a good fit for you.

Psychologist Peer Consultation Groups

Yarra City Psychology organises a monthly peer consultation group.  The group focuses on supporting psychologists in private practice, but we are also happy to have other registered/accredited mental health clinicians join us as well as psychologists working in other sectors.

The group focuses on discussing cases and clinical issues. This may include:

  • case discussion

  • review of relevant articles or trainings

  • discussions of other topics relevant to private practice such as managing legal requests, considerations regarding 'telehealth', managing safety in private practice etc

  • general support of clinicians

This group currently meets on a Wednesday morning from 8 to 9:30am.

More info:

If you would like more information about the peer consultation group, please contact us.

If you would be interested in the group, but the current times don't work for you, please contact us and let us know what times could work and we'll consider that when planning future meetings.
